The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s Inclusion Project has captured the hearts of the Eisteddfod audience every year since its first appearance in 2008. This award-winning event was created for groups from a range of diverse backgrounds, including people with special needs, mental health issues and disabilities. The aim of the project is to reflect the diversity of our society through the Eisteddfod’s ethos of promoting understanding though music and dance.

Through a generous grant from the ScottishPower Foundation we have been able to take the project to the next level by commissioning a brand new song, ‘One Family / Un Teulu’, based on the groups’ own thoughts on the concept of inclusion, togetherness, and being ‘As One’.

Each of our groups will present their own unique performance, and then will join together ‘As One’ to perform the finale, the song that they helped to write with poet Aled Lewis Evans and composer Owain Llwyd. This year’s five participating groups are:
