Slovak National Symphony Orchestra

Owain has just returned from Bratislava where he recorded 15 cues of ‘epic action trailer music’ for Boosey & Hawkes with the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra was conducted by BATFA winning composer Bill Connor.

The Bangor student composer took part in a workshop on composing for orchestra organised by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and led by their Composer in Association Michael Berkeley.
Owain Llwyd heard his piece ‘The Quest’ rehearsed under the direction of guest conductor André de Ridder, received comments on his score from Michael Berkeley and members of the orchestra, and also had a performance of his work recorded.
The workshop was held at the BBC Centre in Cardiff on 10 and 11 February, and another workshop is planned for February 2006.
